Our Pastor has been involved in advocating civil and human rights and social justice issues for most of his adult life. Having been a staff member of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., he currently serves as a national board member and trustee for the Martin Luther King, Jr. His work in the international community has taken him to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

Trinity was founded by a dedicated group of parents in 1950. It was originally a school for children with developmental disabilities. On December 28, 1931, the church had its first revival conducted by Rev. T. E. Brown of Chicago, Illinois. Over a two-year period, the church grew from the original 40 members to 150. Despite this great start, after some unfortunate happenings, the church found itself without a pastor.

It was at this time that God remembered Olivet and sent us a new shepherd. After thriving without a pastor for several years, the church extended a call to the Reverend N. H. Armstrong, of Akron, Ohio on July 17, 1933. The church then took on new life and the membership grew from 150 to 500. Our choir became well known throughout the city of Cleveland with Mr. I. Chapman as Director and Mrs. Georgia Turpin as pianist.
All services will be provided with compassion and concern while keeping the needs at the forefront. Hoping to bring more of the light of Jesus Christ to the Cleveland community, the fledgling congregation adopted the name, New Light Baptist Church. All were welcome to join and hear the truth about the Savior. Thus began a church, dedicated to addressing the full needs of humanity, in accordance with the commands of Jesus Christ. The Reverend A. W. Nix of Chicago, Illinois was offered as a candidate. With everything finally in place, New Light Baptist Church began its journey.

This placed the new congregation in a very difficult situation. Trinity Health of New England at Home offers dedicated volunteer services meant to reduce caregiver stress and provide support through daily responsibilities. Volunteers also aid patients with daily tasks while providing companionship to those facing life-limiting illness.
Often she will replay the worship service during the week, now that I have set up a computer in her room at Hart Heritage. I was so relieved when a room opened up in this facility with its loving and safe home-like environment that I believe promotes dignity, respect, independence, and individuality. The facility also is licensed for both dementia and Alzheimer’s care as well as for Parkinson's which is also a blessing. I would hate to have to move my mother to a different facility if she ever came down with any of those conditions. From 1954 to 1961 our Reverend served as pastor of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia. From 1956 to 1961, he also served as pastor of Atlanta's Providence Baptist Church and therefore, simultaneously led two congregations from 1956 to 1959.
Finding itself again without a pastor, the church relocated to the upstairs rear of the building on 55th Street and Central Avenue, shared with the Mt. Zion Congregational Church. We then extended a call to Rev. Reddick of Alabama, but after some discussion, he returned to his church in Alabama. Our membership at this time had decreased to about 35 but these few still held on, praying and asking God's blessings on our church.
Our professionally led support groups help people of all ages heal from the loss of a loved one. These programs are made available at no cost to family and community members. Trinity Health of New England at Home provides bereavement services to the families of patients undergoing hospice care.
